I’ve been at my job for a few years. My boss just offered me a promotion, but it would mean I’d have to move across the country for a year. I’m not sure what to do because I just got engaged a few weeks ago. My fiancé is really successful in his current position and wouldn’t be able to come with me. I’m afraid to even bring this up to him because we’re in the midst of planning our wedding.
Should I take the job or stay living close to my fiancé for the next year? I’m afraid that my boss will not understand if I turn down the job. It would only be for a year… and we haven’t set a wedding date yet. I feel like I could do it since it’s a temporary relocation, but I’m worried about entering a long-distance relationship with my fiancé. Has anyone experienced a situation similar to mine (where you had a serious relationship before making it long-distance for the first time)?
